The Pro-Duo Cycle tour has been in existence for the past twelve years and the tour has been going through Eskort all these years. This year ML requested that they set up a water point for the cyclists at Eskort as this leg of the tour runs from Winterton to near Howick which makes Eskort a good halfway point before the climbs out of Estcourt. Mr Wynand Nel agreed to this and also to sponsor the riders on such a worthy cause with a pure Eskort Sausage Roll. The riders arrived just before 10 o clock on Friday 28 September for a well deserved leg stretch and refreshments.

The cycle tour is a voluntary effort by the riders who give up their own time and invest financially with sponsors to generate funds for Social Development effort in the Port Shepstone and Lower South Coast area. All proceeds go to worthy causes like hospice, providing much needed equipment and care to patients who cannot afford these. This year the cyclists raise R121, 000 in aid of the Pro-Duo Care group.

The tour consists of the cyclists starting the tour in Van der Bijl Park and ending in Margate. This is a five day tour with sleep over points at Reitz, Winterton, Howick, Amanzimtoti and the last leg from Amanzimtoti to Margate where it ended at the Margate Country Club. Cycling 784 kilometers is truly a sacrifice to those involved. This year saw ML Technologies’ Managing Director, Regardt Kruger also participating and completing the tour. This is one of the Community projects towards which ML has contributed over the past few years as part of their Social Responsibility contribution to aid those in need.

We are looking forward to supporting this worthy cause again in the future and extending the Eskort hospitality and care to them.
